Breakfast

Breakfast is the first meal of the day. The word came about because it means breaking the fast after one has not eaten (fasted) since the night before.

Australia and New Zealand
In New Zealand and Australia, the typical breakfast strongly resembles breakfast in other English-speaking countries. Owing to the warm weather in some parts of Australia, breakfast is generally light. The light breakfast consists of cereals, toast, fruit, and fruit juices rather than cooked items. However, Australians may also enjoy a heavy breakfast with fried bacon, egg, mushroom, sausage, tomatoes and toast, with tea or coffee and juice (similar to the full English breakfast). Some other typical meals include pancakes, porridge, yogurt, and hash browns. Vegemite is routinely spread on toast for breakfast.....ref

Breakfast Ideas: Grilled Halloumi with Garlic Bread and Fresh Spring Garden Salad

The smokey flavor of this mouth watering hard cheese is accompanied by the zesty taste of freshly grilled sourdough bread with a brush of garlic and parmesan cheese. The fresh spring salad garnished with slices of tomato and spring peas adds color for the palet and the eye.

Breakfast

4 slices of Halloumi Cheese
2 Slices of Sourdough bread
1 Tsp Garlic Powder
2-3 Tbs Extra-virgin olive oil
2 Tsp Parmesan Grated Cheese
1 Tsp Parsley
Green Tossed Salads

You will want to have the Halloumi cheese sliced into equally thick slices and rub each with a little olive oil. Grill on a hot outdoor grill for best results to release the great flavor of the cheese. Brown the cheese on both sides turning as needed.

In another small bowl mix together the garlic powder, 2-3 Tbs of the extra-virgin olive oil, the grated parmesan chees and the 1 Tbs parsley. Take the four slices of sourdough bread and brush the oil mixture on one side to start the grilling. When you turn the sourdough bread over to grill then brush the oil mixture on the other side. Brown the bread lightly on both sides.

Have two plates lightly covered with a tossed green salad preferably with baby spinach and romaine. Divide the grilled slices of sourdough bread between the two plates and then place the Hallourni cheese over the the grilled sourdough bread and tossed salads.
